2 1/2 Day Fiber Optic Training Course
by Communication Cable Company

COURSE OBJECTIVE

The objective of this 2 ˝ day Fiber Optic Training course is to provide you with the tools you need to be successful in all aspects of cable termination, polishing, OTDR testing, and fusion splicing. This course is non-vendor specific, and allows participants to work "hands-on" with a wide variety of materials supplied by a number of leading manufacturers. You will acquire necessary information to effectively manage your fiber optic network using state-of-the-art components and equipment. For testing, you will acquire necessary information to effectively Test and Diagnose your fiber cable plant. No prior knowledge or experience with fiber optics is required for participation.

Day 1:
On the first day of the course, terminology and technology of fiber optics is discussed.

Day 2: On the second day of the course, you will prepare and polish connectors, make mechanical splices and make fiber loss measurements and documentation.

Day 3: On the third day of the course, you will fusion splice & test with an OTDR.

ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR\

President of Electronic Interface Associates, Inc. (EIA), Arnie Harris has 23 years of experience in the wire and interconnect industry. Prior to establishing EIA in 1989, he served as national sales manager for Berk-Tek, national accounts manager for Belden and customer service supervisor for Cramer Electronics. Arnie earned his Bachelor Of Science from Worcester State College and post-graduate courses at Harvard University. He has taught a general fiber optics course for numerous clients such as Conrail, Mansfield University, US Steel, DEC, IBM and many other corporate and institutional clients.

COURSE FEE: The fee covers course tuition and all course materials, including tools, manuals and a certificate of completion at end of course. Any traveling, hotel accommodations, meals or parking expenses that may be incurred are not included. Payment must be received ten (10) business days prior to the course date.

The fees are as follows:

    $725.00 per registrant for the first 2 registrants
    $675.00 per registrant exceeding 2 registrants
    For on-site training, a minimum of 6 people will be required
    and a maximum of 12 for this class.

 NOTE: Customizing and group fee classes available upon request.

 CANCELLATION POLICY:Cancellation and full refund will be allowed if written cancellation is received in our office at least ten (10) business days prior to the course start date. Registrants who cancel more than three (3) business days in advance, will be refunded 50% of the course fee. Registrants who do not attend or cancel less than three (3) business days prior to the course start date are responsible for the full registration fee. Registrants may request to transfer to a later course date provided there is space available, the course fee is paid in full and the request is made seven (7) business days prior to the scheduled course date. Substitutions may be at any time.

COURSE SCHEDULE:

Day 1 & Day 2:
Registration is at 8:00 a.m. on the first day. The program begins at 8:30 a.m. and concludes between 4:30 and 5:00 p.m. each day.

Day 3: Registration is at 8:00 a.m. The program begins at 8:30 and concludes at 12:30 p.m.
